Il étudie avec Jean-François Canape, Yves Torchinsky, Cyrille Wambergue, Gérard Marais, Guy Gilbert, et suit les Masters Classes de Riccardo Del Fra, Tommy Smith, Dominique Pifarely, Bojan Z, du trio John Abercrombie/Joe LaBarbera/Hein Van de Geyn, Sophia Domancich, Hélène Labarrière, Stefano Di Battista… Il sort médaillé de la section Jazz en 1997.

De 2000 à ce jour, Stefan Orins participe au Circum Grand Orchestra. La création a eu lieu le 30 avril 2013 à La rose des vents, scène nationale de Lille Métropole à Villeneuve d’Ascq.

Le groupe réalise de nombreuses tournées en Pologne (Gdansk, Varsovie, Cracovie, Wroclaw, Gliwice, Sopot…), Allemagne (Göttingen, Frankfort, Oberhausen, Bremen, Dresden…), France (Lille, Lambersart, Erquinghem Lys…), Royaume-Unis (Londres), Italie (Gênes), Slovaquie (Kokcice, Sala), Russie (Kaliningrad), Ukraine (Lviv), Autriche (Vienne). Le groupe se produit, en février et novembre 2016 avec l'Orchestre Philharmonique de Cracovie, interprétant la suite "DURENT" de Jerzy Chruściński. Depuis octobre 2014, Stefan collabore avec Pascal Lovergne (basse) et le musicien indien Suresh Vaidyanathan (Ghatam, Kanjira, Morsing et Konnokol) dans le projet Nandi. Un concert entier du trio, réalisé par Mister Bi est diffusé chaques mois sur la chaine Stindgray Djazz Tv depuis février 2017. Le cd "Mylapore", sort en mai 2017. Le groupe s'est produit à Birmingham en novembre 2017.

 

Since october 2014, Stefan collaborate with Pascal Lovergne (bass) and the indian musician Suresh Vaidyanathan (Ghatam, Kanjira, Morsing and Konnokol) in the Nandi project. The NANDI's full concert (Pascal Lovergne / Gatham Suresh / Stefan Orins) directed by Mister Bi! is broadcast on Stingray DJAZZ every month from February 2017. The cd "Mylapore", has been released in may 2017. The Band has performed in Birmingham in november 2017.

 

Janvier 2018, tournée en Inde du Sud (Udipi, Bangalore, Tirupati, Chennai…) avec Nandi et en invités le percussionniste Israélien Zohar Fresco et le flûtiste Indien Amith Nadig ! Juillet 2018, Nandi se produit au Saint-Omer Jazz Festival.

L'album "Ten Worlds" du groupe éponyme, avec Stefan Orins (p), Karine Gobert (voc), François Taillefer (perc, voc), Pascal Lovergne (b), sort sur le Label CJN Records en octobre 2019, concert à la Maison Folie Beaulieu de Lomme (59), au Phénix à Valenciennes (59) et aux Arcades de Faches Thumesnil (59), le groupe est sélectionné au concours Jazz à Crest en juillet 2020 (annulé en raison de l'épidémie de Covid 19).

Sur l'invitation de l'association MUAC affiliée à l'Unesco, en avril 2021, le Stefan Orins Trio et le groupe Ten Worlds sont invités à se produire pour un livestream pour l'International Jazz Day. (visible ici et là)

En juin 2021, le Stefan Orins sera en résidence au Phénix, scène national de Valenciennes (59), puis se produira en septembre au Festival International de piano de Marly (59) et sa venue en octobre au Tourcoing Jazz Festival sera l’occasion d'enregistrer son 6e album en live.

 

During the French lockdown in June 2020, Stefan Orins Trio made a livestream with Sakina Abdou (sax) as special guest. Here is the link of the concert : clic !

In October, the trio will perform in Belgium at Comines's Open Jazz Club.

In April 2021, the Unesco affilied's association MUAC, invited the Stefan Orins Trio and Ten Worlds for a livestream to celebrated the International Jazz Day online. (clic here and there)

In June 2021, the trio will have a workshop at the Phenix in Valenciennes.
